11th Street Bridges from the east side of the river
11th Street Bridges connecting Anacostia to the Navy Yards have been in existence since the early 19th century, but the area has undergone many changes. The bridges in the photographs here were built in the late 1960s with the current iteration being completed by DDOT in 2015. Bridges in this location have previously been built of wood, iron, steel, and now concrete. The current complex now consists of three bridges to include both local and highway traffic.
